Yesterday was a fresh new experience for me and my classmates, and all the RaM classes.
Going to the botanic gardens with my classmates in the morning was fun and helped us de-stress and get away from the old boring classroom lessons.
The best part of the trip was the picnic, since we got to bond over food. :)
Of course, it was also a rare opportunity to get close to nature during curriculum time and i'm thankful for the effort put in by the teachers to organise this trip for us.
The physics portion of the trip was interesting.
It was cool to listen to all the different bird calls which i didn't even know existed.
Not forgetting the biology part of the trip, I think that "the man who planted trees" structure is really creative.
I'm glad to see us appreciating the works of people before us who have contributed to nature, and i hope there will be more of these people.
Overall, the trip was really nice and i would like to go for more of these trips in the future!
(especially if it's only exclusively for the RaM classes hehe)
I think that this year is the year in RGS that there were the most activities for nature week organised, out of my three years spent here.
It could be because the problem of global warming is even more pressing now, and nature is really getting destroyed at faster rates.
But i believe that it is more so because there are much more people paying attention to the problem now.
After watching "the cove", i feel really sad for the dolphins and now i'm sure i wouldn't support dolphin shows anymore.
It's a really sad thing, and actually i've been concerned about the problem of destruction of nature/ global warming for quite some time already, just didn't know what and how i could do something about it and so i didn't.
I hope that there will be more opportunities for everyone to play a part to save the environment, and i will do my very best for the environment too. :)
